In chapter 85, "Grace: A License to Wander?, teaches exactly what I have preached to the Congregation at Unity. The fact that grace is not an umbrella in which to do what you want, there are consequences when we sin. And on the other hand , grace is not a bunch of rules that the christian has to follow, that would make it "legalistic".Just as the author wrote: Grace does not relieve us of our holy obligations, but in fact gives us the ability to fulfill them. Amen

The Rich Sound of Grace and Holiness, is the title to chapter 86, it is also subtitled, "intergrating grace and truth". The lesson teaches us that there are three reasons to intergrate the two, first the preacher depends on it, second, the message depends on it, and third, the listener depends on it. Preachers who can accomplish the task of intergrating the two will find listeners will yearn for it.

I should have mention this earlier, but this book is divided in sections, this is part five and it is dealing with structure. Chapter 87 is titled: Set Free From The Cookie Cutter, and is subtitled," How the Text Can Form the Sermon. Haddon Robinson says to avoid the "cookie cutter syndrome", for two reasons, You will get bored with your own preaching and everyone will know what form you will use. Structure like a three point grid is alright to use when your fresh in the ministry but as you grow in the Lord and learn people you will have to expand your style and delivery and certainly your structure.

"Say and Do", this is the title to chapter 88. How to choose a sermon form that helps hearers experience the truth. The author says a good sermon will do what it is talking about and talk about what it is doing. The key to a good sermon form is knowing what you want to say before you start forming your sermon, and deciding what form your sermon will take.

Chapter 89, "Connecting Biblical Content With Contemporary Audiences". The author talks about a two-fold message that speaks to Christians and the so-called window shoppers. Starting with the passages that are to be the text, the author walks through these passages explaing the truths or lessons that are to be preached. Then application in two different ways , again to the christian , and also to the window shopper. These application techniques teach to live the christian life with the Bible as the authority.

Roger, keep up the good work! Is repetition one of the skills of oral clarity? If not, what are some of those skills/
