The title of my course is Old Testament Survey: Poetry and Prophecy. The instructor is Dr. Garnett Reid. I will be finishing up this week. I will be watching two more DVDs this week.

The first DVD that I watched was about the last twelve books of the Old Testament. They are known as the "Book of the Twelve". They consist of the minor prophets. They are called minor, not because they are less important, but because they are shorter.

Randy- I am kind of confused. I am on my last week in my course, but you posted that we had one more week left after this. Am I missing something?

The last DVD of my course is more about the last books of the Old Testament. Obadiah is the shortest book in the O.T. He was speaking to Edom about their doom. I like Habbakuk, it is quoted many times in the New Testament.

The book of Zechariah was about and encouragement to rebuild the temple based on the hope of the Messiah. I like to read chapter 12 verse 10. It says " They will look on Me whom they have pierced." It is still hard to understand why God loves us so much that He would suffer for our benefit. I am so glad that He paid it all!!!!

I love this time of year. I am an avid deer hunter and this weather gets me excited. When it gets cold like this, the big ones start to move. It makes me think of church a little bit. Sometimes we wait for the "cold" times to get moving. We should be moving for God all the time.

Tyler, you have the option of finishing up your 8-week course, or you can continue on next week, and turn in the test materials we talked about earlier. I will find that and repost it.

I will go ahead and finish up the 8-week format. This will be easier for me since I have been in that mode for the course. If we do it in a five week next time, I will start with that. Would that be alright?

Sometimes books are arranged in different orders when presented to different groups of people. The Old Testament is arranged differently in the Jewish version. Do either of you guys know why this is?

THe book I read does talk about the way the old testament is arranged. He doesnt really give an explanation, but says that it really gives the feeling that God is being silent. He says it actually ends with the Chronicles.

Yes, Tyler, either way is fine. As I said when we tried this, I would show your grades both ways, and give you the highest one. You are probably going to be close to a hundred either way because of the bonus options for the five-week plan.

Sorry to both of you that I am behind on reporting grades.

I went to Freedom FWBC to preach tonight. It was awesome to see God working in the service. There were not many people there, but God showed up in a mighty way. We had some come to the alter and the service ended with a man coming to be anointed and prayed for. This was the first time that I have done it. I just relied on God and He got me through.

I am also looking forward to the "live" preachers meeting on Tuesday.
