We had our preachers meeting last night. We missed Randy at the meeting. Sean and I did not know what to do so we just switched courses. I hope that is is O.K. We thought that you may have forgot or something came up last night. Would you like us to go ahead with our next course or wait one more week to start?

The title of my book is THE BIBLE JESUS READ. The author is Philip Yancey. There are seven chapters in this book. I will be reading one chapter a week.

The first chapter is called "Is the Old Testament Worth the Effort?". The author speaks of not knowing much about it. Most christians don't even read the O.T., and some think that it is obsolete. He says that we can find more about God's personality in the pages of the O.T.

The author also talks about his brother when he was in Bible college. He would misquote the Old Testament on purpose. Not very many people would even know. We sometimes neglect the O.T. I think that every book points to Jesus.

The book talks, in one part, about how God does things. If we read in the Old Testament, we will see that God was not impressed with powerful and mighty people. He used the weak and feeble to do His will. I think that is important in order for us to see just how mighty God is.

Another part is about the the people God called His friends. Some of these guys were pretty bad. God still found a way to use them. I think that we need to know that God wants us to come to Him as we are. We don't need to wait until we are better people. God will help us with that after we accept what He has done for us.
