This week in Phillip Yancey's book; " The Bible Jesus Read", I will study chapter number six titled," The Prophets: God Talks Back".

This chapter talked about the prophets writings, interpretations, historical settings and all the things that kind of confuses us from time to time. Mr. Yancey divided the prophets into three categories that help understand there messages, the Now category, the Later category, and the Much later category. In my opinion these prophets were "God's Special Messengers", and he talked back to them plenty. This was one of the better chapters that I have read, lots of information.

Hello Roger, I enjoy the prophets in the Bible. They tell us and remind us of what God expects and how merciful He is. Some of them are a little confusing at times, but I think maybe at different times of our lives, something that is confusing to us now, will hit home later. Have you ever had any of the Minor Prophets show you something that has stuck with you?

Hosea always will stick with me. I think abour how God told him to go and get his wife from harlotry. I feel that is what Jesus did for us.

Yes I think the whole incident surrounding Jonah may stick with me for a very long time. You know I was feeling the Lord really pressing and impressing on me about 8 years ago to answer the call to preach and I shared it with a really good friend and one that was a seasoned christian and he told me pretty straight forward not to let people call but let the Lord call, well I could not discern or confirm that calling and I wonder if I'm still in the fish. I hope that made sense. God Bless
